The NEC has supported numerous Naskapi beneficiaries in their pursuit of a post-secondary education. Our students have gone on to college and university in Québec, Ontario and as far away as British Columbia and South Dakota. Wherever your academic interests bring you, we are prepared to provide the best support possible.
Among other things, we can put prospective students in touch with past students so that you can discuss the experiences… and challenges… that students have had to deal with during their studies.
We will also continue to provide opportunities for post-secondary educational institutions to inform you of what they have to offer, including their programs, any particularities or unique characteristics, support for First Nations students, etc.
In accordance with our funding policy, our students can count on the NEC’s support for help with tutoring, babysitting, travel during the school year. Please note that in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, other supports have been adapted to try to help our students be as successful as possible while studying remotely. This has included help with purchasing a laptop, workshops on budgeting, regular access to a counsellor of academic training and more.
Take a look at the NEC Facebook page for regularly updated information about virtual open house events and other ways to get to know what schools are out there and what programs might interest you.
We want you to succeed and will do what it takes to provide as much support and accompaniment as possible! Take a look at our Contact page to reach out to us!
